​Your front door is a place to greet visitors and welcome friends and outsiders.  Choosing the right color for your front door can be challenging, as there are more than plenty of hues and tones for selection.  Different colors represent different meanings, so while some of you may go for bright and bold, others may prefer warm and soft.

Your front door is not only an entrance to your home.  It is also a statement about who you are.  When choosing a new front door, it is always essential to consider energy efficiency, maintenance, cost, and style. But did you know that the color of your door can also say a lot about you?
 
The following are some popular door colors and what they state about the homeowners' personalities:
 
BLACK - a color that symbolizes order and control.  It will tell people that you are sophisticated and authoritative.
 
BLUE - depending on the shade, a blue front door can mean:

• Bright aqua - that the residents are friendly
• Dark blue - calm and grounded
• Deep blue - stability and trust
• Powder blue - friendly and sincere
• Royal blue - you are prosperous and positive
• Soft teal - promotes emotional healing and creativity

 
BROWN - depending on the shade, brown can mean you are warm and reliable (light brown) or introverted and private (dark brown).
 
GREY – this color is often associated with intelligence and being dignified, but it can come across as stand-offish, depending on the shade chosen.

• Cool Grey - a sophisticated color that is both neutral and dignified

 
GREEN - a green front door states that your home is a place of health, community, and safety.  

• Sassy Green – it is lively and refreshing
• Seasonal Green - is associated with money, ambition, and growth
• Vibrant Lime - it is one of those “out there” colors that make people stop and look and wonder what it looks like inside

 
ORANGE - is considered vibrant and exciting, and if your front door is orange, it will say the same about you.  You will also give off the vibe that you like entertaining and taking on new challenges.

• Rustic Orange (pumpkin orange) - radiates warmth and wisdom

 
PURPLE - is a unique front door color.  It is often associated with spirituality, so by painting your front door purple, you are informing your neighbors that you are open-minded and a risk-taker.

• Eggplant - this palette signifies grace as this color door represents privilege, royalty, and wealth

 
RED - has been symbolic throughout history to mean “welcome.”  

• Apple red - a timeless front door color that makes a statement with a classic crisp red color

 
WHITE: A white front door will tell your neighbors that you are clean, organized, simple, and serene.
 
YELLOW - although uncommon, it states that you are confident, curious, wise, humorous, and understanding.
